| Abstract: | We give an account on a part of joint work in progress with Amru Hussein, Vadim Kostrykin, Konstantin Makarov and Stephan Schmitz. We particularly explain how we arrived at a number-theoretic problem by applying the method of indefinite quadratic forms to operators without ellipticity arising in mathematical models of metamaterials. |
