| Title: | Unavoidable Patterns |
| Abstract: | We introduce the basic terminology in the topic of unavoidable patterns along with proving some basic theorems for general and special cases(Thue-Morse infinite word). While examining the decidability of pattern avoidability we will sketch the proof that a pattern is avoidable if and only if it is irreducible. Finally, we will study avoidability on a fixed alphabet, specifically the bound on the avoidability index and the bound on the length of 2-unavoidable patterns. |
